Quinn* experienced healing and transformation.
Quinn found healing and freedom through IBP. He struggled with unresolved trauma from his past, feeling stuck and disconnected from himself. He often was overwhelmed by anxiety and struggled to trust others.
Through IBP sessions, Quinn learned to tune into his body’s signals and explore the sensations and emotions stored within. Throughout our work, Quinn gently released the trapped energy and emotions held in his body while also understanding where these sensations stemmed from, allowing for deep healing.
As Quinn continued his IBP journey, he noticed profound shifts in his life. He felt lighter, more grounded, and more connected to himself and others. Giving and receiving love became easier. Acting from a place of self-love made it easier to set boundaries and speak his truth with less fear.
IBP helped Quinn reclaim his sense of agency and power, allowing him to move forward with confidence and courage.
Somatic therapy helped Sarah* overcome preverbal trauma.
Research has shown that somatic therapy approaches, such as Integrative Body Psychotherapy, can be highly effective in addressing in-utero and preverbal trauma that traditional talk therapy is not able to tap into fully. By accessing the body’s innate intelligence and addressing trauma stored at a cellular level, you can experience profound healing and transformation that extends beyond the limitations of verbal communication alone.
While growing up, Sarah’s mother was emotionally distant and critical, often making offhand remarks about Sarah’s intelligence and worthiness. Sarah internalized these messages at a young age, believing she was flawed and inadequate. As Sarah explored therapy, she started to uncover the roots of her struggles.
Through exploration and reflection, Sarah realized that many of her beliefs about herself were formed in her early years, long before she had the cognitive ability to question or challenge them. Messages from her mother, delivered during moments of frustration or stress, became Sarah’s truth, shaping her self-concept and influencing her interactions with the world.
Sarah gained empowerment and resilience.
In therapy, Sarah learned about the concept of preverbal trauma, explaining how experiences and messages received in early childhood, particularly before the age of six when language and rationalization skills are still developing, can leave a lasting impact on a person’s psyche. Together, they explore how Sarah’s early experiences continue to shape her beliefs and behaviors in adulthood.
Through therapy, Sarah learned to challenge the validity of these early messages and cultivate a newfound sense of self-compassion and self-worth. She started to recognize that the critical voice in her head was not her own but echoes from the past. With support, Sarah gradually learned to rewrite her inner narrative, replacing self-doubt with messages of self-acceptance and self-love.
As Sarah continued her healing journey, she discovered a newfound sense of empowerment and resilience. By confronting the preverbal trauma that has haunted her for so long, Sarah started to reclaim her voice and her sense of self. With each session, she has moved closer to a future defined by authenticity, joy, and self-empowerment.
Authenticity and growth are my commitments to you.
As a somatic therapist, I believe in walking the talk. Just as I guide others through their healing journey, I also incorporate the principles of Integrative Body Psychotherapy (IBP) in my life. As Beverly Kitaen Morse, Ph.D., M.F., Director of the IBP Institute, beautifully puts it,
“We ask our therapists to be what they teach, to use IBP practice to remain present, authentic, connected, and clear. You can’t take anybody where you haven’t been yourself. The IBP training program provides students with a safe place to risk vulnerability and authenticity, to meet their ghosts, to be authentic, to take responsibility for their own inner world (i.e., their fears, angers and betrayals, hopes and dreams).”
As a therapist, I am committed to my growth and self-discovery to support you on your path to healing. With IBP, you’ll find a safe space to explore your vulnerabilities, meet your inner challenges head-on, and ultimately, become fully alive, present, and embodied.
